Use common symbols or images to mark links. An image is superior to a text description and will make navigation more intuitive.

Organize access to content in an attractive and logical way. Try to avoid menu style content organization. Folder style organization is superior especailly if it uses images and symbols to indicate content.

All links should include hover over text describing where the navigation will take the user.

Related applications in the same organization should use similar or identical styles. A common look and feel goes a long way in encouraging user acceptance and is a valuable branding tool.
